Hands-on operational leadership for properties in transition — from family management to professional models, post-crisis rebuilds, or full turnarounds.
Hands-on operational leadership for properties in transition — from family management to professional models, post-crisis rebuilds, or full turnarounds. P&L management, team recruitment and development, supplier negotiations, and guest experience design.
Properties in transition: a family business passing to a new generation or to professional management, an owner who has just bought a hotel and needs it to run, a team that works hard but without a clear structure, or a place recovering from a difficult period. Also owners who come from another field and need to learn the trade quickly.
Roles and decision rights, written down: who answers for what, and who decides. Someone who owns the room, shift by shift. Service standards, and short manuals that people actually use. Recruitment, onboarding, and the reasons staff leave. The P&L by department, supplier terms, and the handful of numbers worth watching every week.
It can be an engagement with a beginning and an end — a diagnosis, a plan, and support while it is put in place — or a longer presence, month by month, for the changes that only hold if someone checks that they are holding.
I bring twenty years of running properties myself, from opening day at Villa Bordoni to the general management of a five-star hotel in Genova.
Yes. Operations can’t be fixed from a spreadsheet: I spend time at the property, in the room and behind the scenes, and with the team. The analysis and the writing happen in between.
It should do the opposite. Writing down roles and decisions is what lets each person keep the part they are best at, without stepping on each other. The character of a family business is an asset; the lack of structure is not.
I help define the role, write the brief and take part in the selection, and I plan the first weeks of onboarding. The decision stays yours.
